From the history of scientometric classifications of citations. 1. The origins

Abstract: In the context of the need to properly understand the reflection of the properties of scientific documents by their citations, the initial period of creation ofscientometric classifications of citations was considered. It was based on the assumption that their use would provide more accurate data both on the characteristicsof the cited documents and on the nature of scientific citation itself.
