Blockchain E-Commerce Payments: Secure Scalability with MetaMask & Polygon
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Blockchain technology has made revolutionary changes in eCommerce, thus securing transactions online, making them transparent, and thereby improving efficiency. Current solutions existing today struggle mainly to provide scalability and user accessibility, especially about the integration of cryptocurrency payments into classical eCommerce platforms. This paper shows a model of blockchain commerce dealing in ePayments. Such payments come through MetaMask and Polygon network. This model will ideally utilize smart contracts and decentralized finance (DeFi) principles to allow secure transactions while keeping costs and processing times to a minimum. Users can deploy MetaMask to link their digital wallets securely, hence allowing easy cryptocurrency transactions devoid of significant integrations. The model includes robust verification mechanisms to guarantee transactions' integrity and meet all legal provisions' compliance. An individual API is designed for real-time payment processing and order management; this adds to the holistic user experience. As a cloud-hosted service, the deployment of this solution ensures scalability and accessibility for various applications. The setup caters to both the consumer and the merchant with benchmark evaluations recording great transaction speed advancement, cheaper fees, and increased user satisfaction, typically just a mention of markets transitioning to digital currencies. The framework presents itself as a suitable and futuristic solution to e-commerce payments given its propositions to fix issues of security and scalability.
