Exploring The Role And Practice of Implementation Artificial Intelligence (AI) in ERP Systems: A Bibliometric and Systematic Literature Review
Year: 2025
Type: review
Abstract: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems brings multiple benefits through enhanced business process automation and improved decision-making capabilities. Enabled by predictive analytics, machine learning, natural language processing, and automation technologies. This research explores AI integration in ERP systems potential opportunities and challenges by analyzing their effects on operational efficiency, forecasting capabilities, real-time insight and decision-making processes. The study performed a bibliometric and Systematic Literature Review (SLR) analysis to track research trends and understand keyword relationships. This research discusses the benefit in SCM, HR, PP, CRM, and sales modules. The advantages of AI-enhanced ERP systems exist alongside persistent challenges, including poor data quality, integration complexity, and organizational resistance to change. Research shows that AI can transform ERP systems, but overcoming integration challenges requires changes in both technology and organizational structure. Upcoming studies need to develop actionable guidance and structures that allow businesses to adopt AI-enhanced ERP systems in a scalable and sustainable manner.
