Impact of Urbanization and Environmental Changes in Sangli District

Abstract: Urbanization in Sangli district has led to significant socio-economic development; however, it has also brought about considerable environmental challenges. This study examines the relationship between urban growth and environmental changes, focusing on aspects such as air and water pollution, deforestation, and land use changes. The findings indicate that while urbanization has improved infrastructure and economic opportunities, it has also resulted in increased pollution levels and loss of natural habitats. The study suggests adopting sustainable urban planning strategies to balance development with environmental conservation.
