Abstract: Come learn about submitting to SciPy Proceedings, which uses MyST Markdown (mystmd.org) and Curvenote. MyST Markdown is an open-source, community-driven flavour of markdown designed for technical writing and scientific communication. MyST makes a new set of syntax available on top of Markdown that adds support for common scientific document elements like figures, captions, and (most importantly) citations, cross-referencing and auto-numbering features. In this webinar you'll learn about: setting up your SciPy Proceedings environment installing and getting setup with MyST features that MyST adds to Markdown for scientific writing sharing your work for review from SciPy through GitHub Format The webinar will be in the form of a walkthrough with Q&A as we go, followed up with time for discussion at the end. Some familiarity with Markdown, a text editor like VSCode and working on the command line will be helpful but not at all essential.
