Abstract: Media plays an important role for creating environment awareness among society and can reduce the risks. This paper focuses on the role of media in enhancement of environmental awareness and evaluate the role which media plays in enhancing environmental awareness by serving as a powerful platform to disseminate information, influence public opinion, and drive positive change. Increasing environmental awareness is crucial for fostering a sense of responsibility and encouraging sustainable practices among individuals and publics. This research explores the critical role of media in enhancing environmental awareness in Iraq. By examining traditional and digital media platforms, the study highlights how these channels inform the public about environmental issues, influence policy-making, and foster community engagement. The findings suggest that an informed public is essential for effective environmental advocacy, and the media serves as a vital conduit for information dissemination.
