Technical Note on Quality Assessment for Very High Resolution DEM

Abstract: The profusion of new Digital Elevation Models derived from LiDAR national or regional campaigns offers new Very-High Resolution (VHR) open datasets for end-users. Ten of these DEMs have been integrated to the VtWeb tool from VisioTerra, allowing a multi-scale visualization and processing (DEM differences, computation of slopes, “roughness”, curvatures, azimuths…). This report provides the main characteristics of each DEM and summarizes the results of integrations into VtWeb. The DEM product defects encountered during integration are also reported.
