Abstract: This policy brief outlines recommendations for the European Commission (EC) on the importance of monitoring and evaluation at the national level in relation to the implementation of Gender Equality Plans (GEPs) and their necessary inclusion in gender equalitymeasures going forward. This brief is particularly important now, as gender equality risks being deprioritised. This policy brief strongly encourages the introduction of monitoring and evaluation guidelines by the EC, which will have a cascading effect for national authorities and institutions.
