Procrastination Among WIUT Students: A Comparative Study Across Faculties
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Procrastination is a common problem that influences students' academic performance and well-being. Nevertheless, less consideration has been directed toward variation in procrastination behaviors among faculties. The present study examines the procrastination level of students from four faculties at WIUT, based on a survey of 100 full-time students balanced by gender and study level. Findings reveal that Business Administration faculty students report higher levels of procrastination than others. The main reasons mentioned are social networks, laziness, time spent with friends, work obligations, and lack of motivation. The effects of procrastination involve stress, sleep disturbance, and poor academic performance. Recommendations suggest carrying out interim tests and promoting proper time management techniques in order to minimize procrastination. These results stress the importance of specific strategies to mitigate procrastination among university students.
