Solid Lipid Nanoparticles and Their Applications in Pharmaceutical Field: An Overview
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: : Many medications absorption and bioavailability are impacted by their poor aqueous solubility, which makes pharmaceutical development difficult and ultimately leads to less ideal bioavailability and also therapeutic efficacy. To enhance the solubility, a variety of formulation techniques are available, because of its special qualities. Which include biocompatibility, biodegradability, and the capacity to encapsulate hydrophilic as well as lipophilic medicines, solid lipid nanoparticles (SLN) have become a viable drug delivery technology. Compared to traditional delivery methods, these submicron carriers—which are made of solid lipids stabilized by surfactants—offer a number of benefits, including increased stability, regulated drug release, and higher bioavailability. SLNs are used in a number of industries, including as nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and medicines. SLNs are used in a variety of industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and nutraceuticals. Drugs with low water solubility affect the absorption and bioavailability of many medications, which impedes pharmaceutical development and leads to less ideal bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy.
