Conical Pick Cutter Wear Conditions of the Cutting Tool on the physical characteristics of coal dust, health and safety
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This dataset contains experimental results on the physical and aerodynamic properties of silica dust generated during coal cutting trials using conical pick cutters under varying wear conditions. The data includes parameters such as particle size distribution, aerodynamic diameter, and corresponding energy and dust production metrics. It was collected using standardized methods (NIOSH Manual of Analytical Methods 0600 and 7500) and analyzed to assess the impact of tool wear onphysical properties and dust concentration. The dataset is valuable for researchers studying occupational health, mining efficiency, and dust mitigation strategies in underground mining environments. This project was sponsored by NIOSH, therefore specific raw data will be kept based on NIOSH rule.
