Crafting a Magnetic Workplace: How Employer Attractiveness Fuels Employee Engagement
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: : In today’s competitive landscape, organizations must improve efficiency to remain relevant in the market. To achieve both operational excellence and a competitive edge, they adopt various strategies. Talented employees play a pivotal role in successfully executing these strategies. Attracting and retaining such talent hinges on employer attractiveness—a positive perception held by current and prospective employees that makes a company a desirable workplace. Research indicates that organizations perceived as attractive employers are more likely to cultivate emotional, psychological, and behavioral engagement among their workforce. This engagement stems from factors such as job satisfaction, alignment with organizational values, and pride in being associated with the company. Against this backdrop, this study aims to examine how different dimensions of employer attractiveness influence various forms of employee engagement. Findings indicate that role value and familiarity value were found to influence all the types of employee engagement. In addition to familiarity and role value, development and organization values influence affective engagement. Besides familiarity value, role value and ease value influence social engagement. Overall, the study provides valuable insights into how organizations can optimize their employer branding strategies to foster sustained employee engagement.
