Development and Deployment of an IoT-Enabled Embedded Solution for Smart Agriculture
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper outlines the creation of a cost-effective IoT-based embedded system aimed at enhancing smart agricultural practices. It facilitates real-time monitoring and management of environmental variables such as soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and light intensity. Using economical components like the ESP32 microcontroller in conjunction with DHT11, LDR, and soil moisture sensors, the system captures crucial data and transmits it wirelessly via Wi-Fi to an online IoT platform. This platform supports real-time visualization and sends timely alerts, empowering farmers to take prompt action. The integration of wireless sensor networks and cloud analytics improves resource efficiency, cuts down water usage, and enhances growing conditions. Testing confirms that the system helps achieve precision agriculture goals, improves irrigation practices, and delivers actionable insights. This makes it a practical and scalable solution for modernizing agriculture.
