Abstract: The pharmaceutical supply chain plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of medications. However, challenges such as demand variability, logistical complexities, regulatory compliance, and counterfeit drugs threaten its stability. This study explores regulatory frameworks, distribution channels, emerging challenges, and the transformative role of technology in enhancing supply chain resilience. Regulations like DSCSA, EU FMD, GDP, and WHO guidelines safeguard product integrity through strict documentation, serialization, and tracking. Despite these measures, disruptions from supply shortages, pandemics, geopolitical tensions, and cold chain vulnerabilities persist. To address these issues, pharmaceutical firms adopt multisourcing strategies, flexible logistics, and digital monitoring. Distribution networks range from direct manufacturer-to-pharmacy models to complex multi-tier systems, including e-commerce and direct-to-patient delivery, which improve access but introduce regulatory challenges.
