Elasticity of Anisotropic Bodies at Structural Phase Transitions

Abstract: Starting with the basics of anisotropic elasticity, dedicated focus is put on bending and twisting of crystal bars. For ferroelastic crystals considerations are presented to calculate and measure specific elastic coefficients and spontaneous strains (hysteresis loops). Domain switching under applied stress is discussed for Aizu's species 4mmFmm2, 6/mmmFmmm, and 222F2.
