Abstract: 95 years ago, the study Danger Zones. A Study of National Minorities by John S. Stephens (1891-1954) was published in London. This largely forgotten inter-war text is annotated for the first time in this book and republished in German translation. But why is it worth rediscovering and 're-reading' this almost 100-year-old essay, which vividly describes the precarious situation of national minorities in the inter-war period?
