In an interdisciplinary collaboration between an art historian, a scientist, a restorer/goldsmith and a restorer/weaver the belts were examined with regard to style; analyses of materials and technology completed the examination. The art of medieval goldsmiths are illuminated extensively. As a result four medieval belts were reconstructed.
