Abstract: We report on polarized spectroscopy and orange laser operation under 2ω-OPSL and GaN-diode pumping of Sm:LiYF4 crystals. The Samarium laser delivers 12 mW at 605 nm with a threshold of 51 mW and a linear polarization.
