Frammenti comici, tradizioni paremiografiche e… paradeigmata retorici? Nota a Philem. fr. 20 K./A. (Δακτύλιος) e a Diph. fr. 65 K./A. (Πήρα)

Abstract: These two comic fragments correspond to a proverb. A new interpretation of them is possible, if we relate them to the explanation of the same proverb offered by Aristeides the paroemiographer. Demosthenes and Herondas, using a variant of it, suggest that this proverbial expression may have originated from a famous story in the Athenian schools of rhetoric.
