Abstract: An Idea of Liberation in the Suburbs uses traditional forms such as haiku, haibun, sestina, pantoum, villanelle and original invented forms, but also includes free-verse litany, epistolary and prose poems. The poems vary in the use of lyric and narrative modes. The subjects and themes concern religion, spirituality, philosophy, language play, the mind and inquiries into the nature of thinking.
