Amendment 3 to the Puerto Rico, St. Croix, and St. Thomas and St. John Fishery Management Plans: Management Measures for Dolphinfish and Wahoo
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Amendment 3, if implemented, would establish additional management measures for dolphinfish and wahoo in federal waters to (1) ensure undersized individuals have adequate time to mature and reproduce and (2) take a precautionary approach to management to protect against overfishing for resources with limited management structure. The affected area of this proposed action encompasses federal waters off Puerto Rico, St. Croix, and St. Thomas/St. John, and the fishing communities in the U.S Caribbean that depend on these pelagic resources.
