Abstract: On October 15, 2024, the LIGNICOAT, THERMOFIRE, and VIABLE projects came together for a comprehensive online workshop on bio-based innovations in flame retardants, fibers, and resins. Moderated by Dr. Michele Ponzelli (AXIA INNOVATION), the workshop featured expert insights from leading EU-funded projects focused on sustainable alternatives for industries such as automotive, construction, and aerospace. Key presentations included bio-resins for coatings, fire-retardant additives, and applications in critical sectors. The roundtable discussion explored the future of bio-based additives, tackling performance, costs, and sustainability. Attendees participated in live polls on the benefits and barriers to adopting bio-based materials.
