Abstract: This article examines modern technologies for the disposal and recycling of cardboard packaging (CP), which have become increasingly relevant amidst global consumption growth and rising waste volumes. Both traditional and innovative recycling methods are explored, including mechanical, chemical, and enzymatic treatment, as well as physicochemical approaches such as hydrothermal and plasma processing. The role of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), in optimizing sorting processes and carbon footprint monitoring is analyzed. Special attention is given to the environmental aspects and efficiency of modern recycling methods, which help reduce environmental impact and decrease the use of virgin raw materials.
