Abstract: The Patupattu and the Attupatai are considered to be an encyclopedia of art that helps us understand the culture of the Sangam people. The Tamils of the Sangam period had learned many arts including music, painting, sculpture, and architecture. We can learn about this through the Sangam literature. In this way, the Nedunalvadai composed by Nakkhira, which appears in the Patupattu, is an excellent work that illustrates the artistic excellence of the Sangam Tamils. This article aims to examine the musical art featured in the Nedunalvadai.
