Basic Principles of Noise – Tolerant Coding

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: As smart city networks become increasingly complex, the challenge of maintaining reliable communication amidst environmental noise and interference grows. Noisy coding models and algorithms are crucial in ensuring the robustness of data transmission in these dynamic, large-scale systems. This paper explores the various noisy coding techniques tailored to smart city networks, focusing on error detection and correction methods such as forward error correction (FEC), Reed-Solomon codes, turbo codes, and low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. We discuss how these algorithms mitigate the effects of noise from environmental factors, electromagnetic interference, and device imperfections, which are prevalent in urban landscapes. Additionally, we investigate the role of adaptive coding and modulation strategies, interference alignment, and machine learning-driven noise prediction in enhancing the performance of smart city communications. The trade-offs between computational complexity, power consumption, and latency in low-power IoT devices are also examined. The paper concludes by highlighting the importance of efficient noisy coding techniques in ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performance communication for the diverse applications of smart cities, including traffic management, public safety, and healthcare systems
