Abstract: Synthetic biology enables the engineering of photosynthetic microbes to support oxygen production and carbon recycling in space habitats. This study investigates the genetic modification of cyanobacteria for enhanced photosynthetic efficiency and resilience in extraterrestrial environments. Results demonstrate significant advancements in microbial productivity and environmental adaptability, paving the way for sustainable life-support systems in space.
