Abstract: Summary. At the beginning of the 2000s, satirical graphics in Moldova experienced a proliferation of exhibition activities and caricature competitions. This contributed to the promotion of new talents, the development of new thematic approaches, and stylistic transformations that led to the emergence of broad semantic meanings. During this period, both established artists with experience in satirical graphics, such as Valeriu Curtu, Ion Mîțu, Sergiu Tomșa, and Margareta Chițcatîi, as well as the new generation of artists including Alex Dimitrov, Sergiu Puică, Ștefan Agachi, Victor Crudu, Grigore Puică, Alexandru Plăcintă, and Vitalie Cușnir, contributed to the development of satirical graphics in the country. Caricaturists of this era tended to create images with complex, sophisticated meanings, while others chose to represent daily reality in a scathing and sarcastic manner. Satirical works were widely promoted through national and international caricature contests and exhibitions, as well as newspapers and magazines such as Literatura și Arta, Jurnal de Chișinău, Ziarul de Gardă, Săptămâna, Lanterna magică, Timpul and others.Key words: artists, satirical graphics, visual language, symbol, allegory, irony, sarcasm.
