Offshore Self-Sustaining Platforms for Hydrogen Production
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The global energy transition towards renewable sources highlights the critical role of green hydrogen as a sustainable energy carrier. This paper proposes an innovative offshore platform design integrating advanced technologies such as solar concentration via Fresnel lenses, tungsten-based thermal management systems, and hydrodynamic turbines for continuous energy generation. The platform's design ensures self-sufficiency by combining hybrid renewable energy sources and leveraging advanced materials to withstand marine environmental challenges. Economic feasibility and environmental sustainability are evaluated, highlighting the platform's potential as a scalable, long-term solution for green hydrogen production.
