Fortified Vitamin D Products: Enhancing Nutrition for a Healthier Future
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Vitamin D, often called the "sunshine vitamin," is an essential nutrient that the body needs for several important functions. While our skin can produce vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, many people do not get enough due to indoor lifestyles, geographic location, sunscreen use, or dietary habits. This has led to a growing concern about vitamin D deficiency worldwide. To address this issue, one effective and practical solution is the fortification of commonly consumed food products with vitamin D. Fortified foods have proven to be a valuable public health measure, helping individuals maintain adequate vitamin D levels and promoting overall health.
