Library guided tours - History versus the present

Abstract: This issue of CIVICA Library Café features guided tours of the SGH Library. This presentation mentions how the visits were prepared and focuses on the parts of the institution that were being shown during these visits. A short overview of the history was presented to visitors followed by the information on how the Library is organized. Depending on who is visiting, (exchange students, professors, prospective students), tailored practical guidance on the available services offered is delivered. The following departments are always shown: Lending Library,- Scientific Information Department,- European Documentation Department,- The General Reading Room,- Co-lab,- Journals and Newspapers Reading Room. These guided tours give visitors a better understanding of how the SGH Library works, and enable them to make the most of it.
