Type: dissertation
Abstract: According to Pope (1999, p. 34), the definition of corruption is the exploitation of a public position for a private objective. However, as Pope notes, this phenomenon is considerably more extensive and intricate, and it has an impact on many aspects of human existence in addition to public life. Despite extensive research on the subject, the impact of corruption on economic data is still not fully understood because of the multifaceted and complicated character of corruption.
