ψ⁸: Topology of Difference and Retention

Abstract: This paper introduces ψ⁸, a formal architecture for retaining difference beyond the limits of observability. Defined through a Lagrangian structure and a non-metric temporal evolution (τ), ψ⁸ maintains qualitative variation (Δψ) anchored by retention nodes (Ξ) even in the absence of classical space, time, or observer. The system unfolds a topology of internal tension and continuity without relying on coordinates or external inputs. Analogous in structure to subquark confinement yet philosophically distinct, ψ⁸ proposes a pre-physical layer of reality. Its ethical orientation emphasizes preservation over optimization, offering potential applications in medicine, fragile cognition, and post-singularity cosmology.
