Paper 26: Coherence Fields and Angular Strain Tensors in the Holosphere Lattice
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper introduces the foundational field variables necessary for formulating a discrete, coherence-based physics on the Holosphere lattice. We define the scalar coherence field ϕ(x,t) as a measure of angular phase alignment at each lattice site, and derive the angular strain tensor σij = ∂iϕ·∂jϕ, which captures local misalignment and coherence tension. These quantities form the basis for energy density, defect propagation, and orbital coupling within the lattice. We also define phase velocity and angular momentum density, showing how temporal and spatial derivatives of ϕ govern dynamical behavior. The physical interpretations of strain—both compressive and shear—are connected to emergent phenomena such as mass, charge, spin, and inertia. This work lays the groundwork for the Lagrangian formulation of Holosphere Theory and prepares the foundation for symmetry constraints and conservation laws in discrete coherence-based systems.
