Abstract: The condition known as periodontitis affects the tissue that surrounds the tooth. The disease is influenced by both local as well as systemic etiological factors. Periodontitis is one of the most common diseases related to the oral cavity. It is important to treat the disease in a prompt manner as it not only leads to tooth loss but also influences the general health of the patient. The activity explains about the pathogenesis of periodontitis and reviews its diagnosis and treatment. This activity highlights the role of the interprofessional team regarding care for patients influenced by periodontitis.
