The Primal Wisdom of Prehistoric Creatures: Knowing Without Thinking

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article explores the concept of “non-conceptual knowing” among prehistoric animals, focusing on instinctive intelligence, sensory integration and environmental resonance. Long before the rise of rational cognition, many creatures exhibited sophisticated responses to stimuli that suggest a form of primal wisdom intelligence without abstraction. Drawing from ethology, neurobiology and Buddhist insight into non-verbal consciousness, the article argues that such knowing reflects an early form of awareness deeply connected to the flow of nature. This perspective opens a new dialogue about the nature of wisdom in beings that existed before language, logic, or reflection.
