Stump appendicitis. A case report
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Background: Stump appendicitis is a rare etiology of acute right lower quadrant abdominal pain that is frequently overlooked in the emergency room. The history of a previous appendectomy means that it is not considered as a differential diagnosis. Computed tomography (CT) is the imaging method of choice to aid diagnosis and treatment is primarily surgical (1). We present the case of a 48-year-old male with abdominal pain of 4 days' duration in the right iliac fossa (RIF). Keywords: Stump appendicitis.
