Constructseme as a Factor Expressing Structural-semantic and Predicative Properties of Syntactical Construction (by the Material of the English Language)

Type: article
Abstract: In this article, the authors in the framework of paradigmatics reveal a syntactic phenomenon, defined by researchers as a constructseme in which the structural-semantic and predicative properties of the syntactic construction are concluded, expressed by the general properties of the part of the syntactic unit containing a wholesome utterance that lies beyond the boundaries of the traditional sentence delimited by punctuation and a common syntagma but having a common semantic whole and connected with the previous construction, the constructseme in its turn complets and refines the basic structure.Syntactic theory has received some new directions, which in general should be defined as semantic syntax. Along with the development of semiotics, the science of the sign, semantic syntax as a science contributed to the emergence of the idea that a sentence is an integral sign and, as such, has a content side (semantics), and not just a syntactic structure, i.e. plan of expression. The present study examines the structural-semantic and predicative properties of the sentence and its functions: constructive and predicative. The theory of syntactic relations, based on the degree of connectedness of words in a sentence, is based on the opposition of the concepts of hypotaxis and parataxis. In order to comprehensively and fully describe the structure of a sentence, it is necessary to consider its structural, semantic and predicative properties in the context of paradigmatic syntax. It is this consideration that gives us a complete picture of the nature of the syntax of the complicated and complex type.
