Artificial Intelligence and Judicial Efficiency: Accelerating Trial Processes in Indian Courts
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The Indian judiciary is undergoing a transformative shift with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance judicial efficiency, transparency, and fairness. AI-powered tools such as SUPACE, E-Courts, and predictive analytics are revolutionizing legal research, case management, and courtroom documentation. These technologies assist judges and legal professionals in expediting trials, reducing case backlogs, and ensuring consistency in judgments. AI also plays a crucial role in mitigating biases, improving accessibility to legal information, and facilitating alternative dispute resolution. While AI serves as an advanced assistive tool, judicial discretion remains paramount in upholding justice. By adopting AI responsibly, the Indian judiciary is fostering a legal system that is more efficient, transparent, and equitable, ensuring the timely delivery of justice.
