Checklist: Estratégias Integradas para Comunicar e Envolver o Público na Ciência

Year: 2024
Type: report
Abstract: This document, Checklist: Integrated Strategies for Communicating and Engaging the Public in Science, is part of the initiatives led by ARMA-Sci (Network for the Promotion of Scientific Capital in Armamar) in the framework of the European Researchers' Night in Rural Environments (RERN) – Armamar. European Researchers’ Night in Rural Contexts: The ERN is an annual initiative supported by the European Commission, aiming to bring science closer to society by fostering direct engagement between researchers and the public. While ERN takes place across Europe, its relevance in rural areas is particularly profound, as it helps decentralize knowledge, promote scientific literacy, and create opportunities for local communities to engage with research. ARMA-Sci’s Role as a local coordinator: As the coordinating entity of the RERN in Armamar, ARMA-Sci is committed to ensuring that geographical and socio-economic constraints do not limit access to science and education. Through strategic partnerships with local schools, municipal institutions, and research organizations, ARMA-Sci works to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and rural communities, fostering a culture of inquiry, curiosity, and engagement with science. About this document: This checklist was developed to support researchers, science communicators, and event organizers in enhancing the effectiveness of their public engagement strategies. It provides practical guidelines to ensure that science communication is clear, inclusive, and engaging, making research more accessible and relevant to diverse audiences.
