Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This set of data includes: 1) hourly precipitation data from model output interpolated to a regular 3km grid (for additional details see journal publication: Glazer, R., E. Coppla, F. Giorgi 2025: Understanding Nocturnally-driven Extreme Precipitation Events over Lake Victoria in a Convection-Permitting Model. Monthly Weather Review.) - these files are in netcdf4 format and are named: ' pr_remap_1hr_ {year}{month}{day}00.nc' 2) files which list the dates or locations of events in each composite: ' dry_dates_pr_regrid_8x8_6utc.txt ': the list of dates for events in the dry composite ' extr_dates_pr_regrid_nonzero_99_99_8x8.txt ': the list of dates for events in the extreme composite ' extr_locs_pr_regrid_nonzero_99_99_8x8.txt ': a list of the latitude and longitude locations of events in the extreme composite ' norm_dates_pr_regrid_meannight_99_99_8x8.txt ': the list of dates for events in the normal composite ' norm_locs_pr_regrid_meannight_99_99_8x8.txt ': a list of the latitude and longitude locations of events in the normal composite 3) the namelist for the RegCM model which was used to carry out the simulations:' LakeVicMar_3km_test.in '
