Viscera washing: Advantages and details of a MIRINZ washer

Abstract: Perforated rotating drum washers have been accepted worldwide as standard equipment for washing viscera before rendering. MIRINZ studies have shown that the washers have significant dis-advantages for those works using them. This Bulletin outlines major disadvantages of the drum washers and gives details and advantages of a screw conveyor immersion washer developed by the Institute.
