Characteristics of a Regulating Pole Synchronous Converter
Year: 2024
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Toward the latter part of the College Year of 1913-14, the Department of Electrical Engineering was augmented by the arrival of a General Electric Double Current Generator, or Regulating Pole Synchronous Converter. Because it was such a small machine, and also because it was designed for 50 cycle current instead of a standard frequency, the regular factory tests were omitted. It was therefore desirable to run such tests as would disclose its characteristics and action under various conditions.
