Abstract: The dissertation “Common polymorphisms of LPA and 9p21 as genetic risk factors for aortic valve stenosis” examines the SNPs rs10455872 and rs1333049 as risk factors for aortic valve stenosis. Patients were genotyped for the presence of the risk alleles G. CAD as a comorbidity was identified in a subset of the subjects. An additional meta-study was conducted. With a probability of p<0.05, LPA has a significant impact on LP(a) plasma levels and the occurrence of aortic valve stenosis. No statistical significance was found for 9p21.
