Abstract: Objective: Determine if the dependence on Facebook is a factor associated with \npoor sleep quality in medical students. \n \nMaterial and Methods: An analytical, observational and cross-sectional study \nwas carried out through the application of surveys to medical students from first \nto sixth year of the Antenor Orrego Private University, Trujillo, Peru. Young's \ninternet addiction test, adapted for Facebook, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality \nTest were used. \n \nResults: Significant differences were found in relation to the variables age, sex, \norigin, year of study, coexistence and body mass index (BMI) among students \nwith poor or no sleep quality. The proportion of dependence on Facebook in \nmedical students with poor sleep quality was 19%. The proportion of dependence \non facebook in students without poor sleep quality was 0%. The dependence on \nfacebook is not a factor associated with poor sleep quality in medical students. \n \nConclusions: The dependence on Facebook is not a factor associated with poor \nsleep quality in medical students.
