A Mathematical Model Formulation and Analysis of Sexual Violence Trends in Nigeria

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study proposes a novel approach to analyzing and predicting the trends of sexual violence in Nigeria by employing mathematical modeling techniques commonly used in epidemiology. It aims to adapt epidemic models, like the Susceptible-Infectious-Recovered (SIR) model, to understand the spread and impact of sexual violence within the population. The research uses national surveys, reports, and official records data to establish model parameters and validate their accuracy. By simulating the dynamics of sexual violence while considering factors such as demographics, cultural norms, socioeconomic conditions, and interventions, the study provides insights into the effectiveness of preventive measures. The outcomes aim to inform policymakers, public health professionals, and stakeholders with evidence-based strategies to combat sexual violence and create safer communities in Nigeria.
