Upper Extremity Anatomical Simulated Fracture Device
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: The purpose of this design project is to create a functional upper limb fracture simulation that can be used by medical students to mimic reduction and splinting accurately in hopes that these skills can be learned effectively and realistically before being put into practice. The design aims to replicate the Smith and Colles wrist fractures, as well as a comminuted fracture. The model design was presented to five medical students pursuing their undergraduate degrees, and overall responses to prompts indicated that they believed the model would be a good tool for learning reduction and splinting.
