¿Antisemitismo en la universidad española y en la sociedad europea? Reflexiones en el contexto de la guerra en la Franja de Gaza
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The following reflections address, from a victimological perspective, the Palestinian Israeli conflict, and more specifically the current Gaza War. The trigger for the Israeli military operation against the Palestinian population was the savage attacks carried out in Israel by the terrorist organization Hamas on October 7, 2023, with gruesome images that spread around the world. However, in the specific case of Spain, this attack and its resounding condemnation were silenced by university institutions, showing no empathy for the Israeli and Jewish populations. Quite the opposite happened with the Israeli army's military operation in Gaza, which gave rise not only to protest rallies in support of the Palestinian population, but also to all kinds of proclamations, threats, and insults against Israel. The current situation has led to the Jewish population living in the West becoming virtually invisible, with Jewish life in Europe reduced to a minimum for fear of attacks, without taking into account that a significant segment of this Jewish population unreservedly condemns the Gaza War and its repercussions on the Palestinian citizens.
