Abstract: DNA-based data storage has emerged as a new frontier for archival storage solving the world's future data demands. In order to ensure reliable and efficient storage, error-correction is inevitable. This dissertation discusses error-correction schemes for sequences and arrays against insertion and deletion errors, prominent error types occurring in the storage process. Further, we propose a practical end-to-end coding scheme comprising the whole DNA storage process which we evaluate on experimental data.
