Locally Increased Oxytocin Promotes Global Cooperation and Fairness in Human Social Network
Year: 2019
Type: preprint
Abstract: Building cooperation is essential for development of human society, however, the spreading mechanism of cooperation in social network is largely unknown. In two laboratory experiments we conduct the two-stage prisoner’s dilemma game (tPD) and the ultimate game (UG) respectively in network structure to discover how the locally administrated prosocial neuropeptide oxytocin would influenced global cooperation behavior in the punishment driven cooperation network. The result reveals that the oxytocin effect of cooperation amplifies on the whole tPD and UG network through the interactive interaction process. While the control experiment employed on the reward based network with trust game(TG) no longer shows oxytocin effect on the network cooperation.
