Abstract: In the high-stakes field of healthcare, particularly in specialities like anaesthesiology and critical care, medical errors and adverse events can have profound consequences, not only for patients (the first victims) but also for healthcare providers involved in these incidents. These healthcare professionals, referred to as ‘second victims’ (SVs), often experience significant emotional and psychological distress following an adverse patient event.
